More Iz

It's been a year since I last photographed Iz; she's more beautiful than ever...
Since I've started blogging again on Venus and revisiting my other love - writing - I've sort of neglected this little blog o' mine. It will take some time, but I'll begin to manage both: More pictures here, more writing there...
Also in the process of exploring new horizons ... will discuss that piece a bit more on Venus, though.
It's true that photography is my main love, but I've been working on a feature-length documentary for the last year and a half so I'm wanting to understand filming process better (it'll make ya head spin, I swear). I have a wonderful friend who is doing the camera work for it (on his mack daddy $80,000 camera) and someone else to do the final edits so I'm doing the less creative aspects of it - directing, writing, fundraising, etc. In any event, I'm wanting to start making some little films here and there so I can work on my editing and storytelling skills. Plus it's just a lot of fun. :)
Anyway... Wednesday morning (day before yesterday) I sent Caroline a note asking her if she wanted to do a little project - she said, "Yes! But I'm moving to LA on Sunday - can we do it this week?" Caroline is ridiculously talented. Truly.
So, I said, "How about tomorrow?" And that was that... We filmed yesterday morning and I wrapped up the final edit just after 4:00 in the afternoon. I love projects I can finish in a day: It's easier to stay in love with them because they don't kick you around as much.
The skinny about the video is on the link, so I won't bore you with it here.
Wish you were here...

...because it's extraordinary and I'm missing Paris...
This was a magical night and I feel so incredibly honored for this recognition. Equally honored and blessed to have shared it with people who mean the most to me in the world (mom, dad, Nardi, and Grammy - you were with me in spirit). I'm positively floating on air... :)
So honored and thrilled to be included in this exhibit again; this year I have two prints showing...

And Sunday Morning - which is in a few of the posts below... :)
... images from the installation. I love the decayed look of these walls...

This is such a wonderful way to show art - the installation itself is, of course, art. It's perfect - I love it - so thrilled to be a part of it!
Here she is again at City O' City (or somewhere very nearby) - which also happens to be my new favorite haunt...
I'm not sure who took these pictures (they weren't credited on The Big Picture's Facebook page), but, whoever you are - thank you. :)

I was delighted to have these images selected for The Big Picture; an international exhibit curated by Mark Sink. The images are blown up to 2' x 3' and wheatpasted on buildings and other various and sundry flat-ish surfaces throughout Denver and other cities in the world. This is the second year of the show (I was incredibly fortunate to have been included in the first one as well); it's held in conjunction with the Sink-driven Month of Photography which takes places every other year in March.
